Easy, yummy toddler face mask
When it comes to face masks for toddlers, I don’t think the goal is to improve their skin - their skin is basically perfection. I do face masks with Mishka for a couple of reasons: first, it’s fun and entertaining. We recently got introduced to Peppa Pig and it’s something to keep her from binge watching a whiny Peppa, “but pleeease, Madam Gazelle” ugh. I also like that the process of applying the mask and letting it dry forces her to be still, mindful and in the moment. Lastly, it’s my way of teaching her how to make time to care for herself in a simple way.
My favorite mask to use with Mishka has only two ingredients: full fat greek yogurt and honey. Simply mix the two and apply on your toddler’s face. The greatest thing about this mask is even if she licks it - which she always does - no harm done. I put the mask on before shower-time, leave it on for about five minutes, and rinse off.
This mask is also fabulous for adult skin. Yogurt contains lactic acid which is a gentle yet effective exfoliant and probiotics which heals blemishes. The honey is hydrating and rich in antioxidants. If I’m doing this mask on myself I like to add nutmeg, a natural skin plumping agent. Try it and let me know what you think.
